General Machine Learning Model, Review, and Experimental-Theoretic Study of Magnolol Activity in Enterotoxigenic Induced Oxidative Stress

Abstract: This study evaluated the antioxidative effects of magnolol based on the mouse model induced by Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (E. coli, ETEC). All experimental mice were equally treated with ETEC suspensions (3.45×109 CFU/ml) after oral administration of magnolol for 7 days at the dose of 0, 100, 300 and 500 mg/kg Body Weight (BW), respectively. The oxidative metabolites and antioxidases for each sample (organism of mouse) were determined: Malondialdehyde (MDA), Nitric Oxide (NO), Glutathione (GSH), Myeloper… Show more

“…Perioperative hemodynamic changes generate more oxygen radicals, which can damage tissues after oxidation reactions with lipids in tissues, producing MDA [20]. SOD is a very important class of antioxidant enzymes in the body, which can scavenge oxygen radicals by catalytic reduction reactions [21]. In this study, SOD level decreased in both the observation group and the control group at the T2 time point compared with T1, and ROS and MDA levels increased compared with T1.…”

“…[1820] At present, a large number of studies have confirmed that the changes in the levels of MDA and SOD reflect the ability of anti-lipid peroxidation and scavenging oxygen free radicals. [21,22] In this study, we found that edaravone could significantly inhibit the serum MDA content in patients with PQ poisoning, and increase the content of serum SOD. All of these revealed severe anti-lipid peroxidation damage and the ability to scavenge oxygen free radicals.…”

“…IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-8 not only regulate the reorganization of cytoskeletal proteins, but also directly lead to the rearrangement of TJs proteins and thus reduce the barrier function. 44 Besides, evidences suggested that oxidative stress is closely related to intestinal barrier dysfunction, mainly due to the ability of oxidative stress to disrupt TJ proteins. Pretreatment with ICA and pICA significantly attenuated ETEC K88-induced pro-inflammatory cytokines expression in jejunum of piglets and IPEC-J2 cells.…”

“…Among these mechanisms, the accumulation of oxidative stress intermediates has received great attention. 44 Besides, evidences suggested that oxidative stress is closely related to intestinal barrier dysfunction, mainly due to the ability of oxidative stress to disrupt TJ proteins. 45,46 Our data clearly showed that ETEC K88 challenge expression of p38 in IPEC-J2 cells.…”
