“…As shown in Figure b, SDVB is composed of C–S and S–S bonds with the benzene ring. Unlike the high BDE value of the C–H bond in the benzene ring (about 474.9 kJ/mol), the C–S and S–S bonds of SDVB show BDE values of 271.96 and 225.94 kJ/mol, respectively, which are quite low compared to the typical C–C single bonds (347.27 kJ/mol) . The computational model is constructed as shown in Figure a, to mimic the SDVB structure.…”

“…To form the specific surface boundary along the shape of the metal NPs, DUV light of 185 and 254 nm wavelengths, i.e., photon energies of 647 and 471 kJ·mol –1 , respectively, were irradiated on the film surface (Figure b, IV). This irradiated energy was strong enough to break the Si–O (445 kJ·mol –1 ), Si–C (375 kJ·mol –1 ), and C–C (348 kJ·mol –1 ) bonds, while the DTS-treated surface below the core NPs was protected from the DUV light. As a result of the DUV treatment, a clear DTS–surface boundary corresponding to the shape of the Ag NPs became evident (Figure b, V).…”
