This study is an attempt to assess Work stress using work–related stress questionnaire (Karasek) among 241 workers and measured thermal stress using Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) in °C taking into consideration the plight of the Sudan, hot climates, in different industrial sectors in Omdurman to improve working. This study covers food industries, oils and soap, iron and metals, plastic, cement, and derivatives. Ninety-two factories in various industrial sectors were visited to collect data on the workplace and individuals (241 workers were surveyed for possible heat stress exposure such as name, age, sex, occupation, work duration, shift, working hours, habits related to smoking, etc.). This study found that psychological demands represented the most significant causes of stress. This study showed that socio-demographics, job characteristics, and work-related and related factors were highly influential in developing high heat stress. The study shows a relation be-tween the upper limits of heat and high workplace stress and illustrates the variation of heat stress between different industry types. Plastic, food, iron and metals, and cement, and derivatives. Socio–economic factors among workers were examined by the study to ascertain if there was a significant relationship between high-stress symptoms development among the workers; the study also inspects the association between high stress and factors such as working hours, shift system, marital status, personal hobbies, and bad habits. This present study aims to propose the guidelines for Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) for the prevention of heat stress and workplace stress.

O impacto de fatores psicossociais do trabalho sobre a saúde e a capacidade de trabalho dos agentes de trânsito municipais El impacto de los factores psicosociales del trabajo para la salud y la capacidad de trabajo de agentes de tráfico municipales ABSTRACT Objective: To analyze the impact of work-related psychosocial factors on the health and work ability of municipal transit agents. Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out with a sample of 118 subjects at the municipality of Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil, during 2014. They answered two questionnaires: Work Ability Index-WAI and Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire-COPSOQ. These questionnaires collected information regarding how well a worker is able to perform his or her work; and on the psychosocial factors related to their work, health status, and welfare. The statistical analyses were carried out using the calculation of central tendency and dispersion measures. Results: The analysis of objectivity, acceptance, practicability, sensitivity and content validity of the questionnaires as a whole did not show any problematic result, with some limitations regarding their length. A significant association between WAI and COPSOQ was observed. The prevalence of good capacity for work was among the subjects aged between 31 and 50 years (p=0.012). However, concerning the job satisfaction, 28 (23.73%) denoted being satisfied, 74 (62.71%) partly satisfied, and 16 (13.56%) were dissatisfied. The ability index was 36.8 points, and the prevalence of good capacity for work was 76.27%. Conclusion: The results revealed that better physical and mental health are associated with greater work ability, representing that, the better the worker's health, the greater his work ability. The psychosocial work environment and, especially, the decision-making autonomy were thus important determinants of self-rated quality of life in this group of transit agents.

Prediction of Job Satisfaction & Burnout on Criminal Judges Based on Psycap

As a widely regarded positive psychology concept, psychological capital results in flexibility. Significance of the psychological capital is increased for those with difficult jobs, especially those dealing with customers engaged with serious psychosocial disorders. The present research is aimed at predicting job satisfaction and job burnout among Iranian criminal judges based on psychological capital. The present study was performed using a survey-correlational method. As a statistical sample, a total of 210 criminal judges from all Iranian provinces were selected via convenient sampling. Questionnaires collected from 23 judges were omitted from data analysis stage due to incompleteness. The questionnaires developed by Luthans, Spector, and Maslach were utilized to evaluate psychological capital, job satisfaction, and job burnout, respectively.Considering the obtained data, all the psychological capital components were found to exhibit significant positive relationships with the job satisfaction among criminal judges (p<0.003). However, results of multivariate regression analysis for predicting job satisfaction showed that hope and self-efficacy were the most important factors when it came to the prediction of job satisfaction among criminal judges (p<0.001). In addition, hope alone was the most important inverse predictive factor for job burnout among criminal judges (p<0.001). It seems that paying attention to and enhancement of psychological capital among criminal judges serve as effective solutions for lowering their job burnout while improving their job satisfaction considering the judgment career-associated pressures and exhaustion. An increase in hope was found to be more effective than the other two components.
