Abstract

Keywords: Vorwissenschaftliches Arbeiten, Gender, genderspezifi sche Fragestellung, online-Atlas (Un)mapping gender -Teaching pre-scientific writing with genderATlas Two main objectives have been pursued by extending and preparing the online genderATlas for students and teachers in schools: First, it is intended to direct current scientifi c fi ndings on gender-specifi c questions from geographical, economic, social and political perspectives towards competence-oriented teaching in secondary schools, with a special focus on citizenship education. Second, the didactic preparation promotes the pre-scientifi c work that students get involved with during their graduation thesis (VWA) by explaining the key steps of a research process and by encouraging and guiding independent work. Nine topics, which have been adapted for various age groups, point at possible research fi elds and help students to formulate their own research questions. Additionally, various methods of data collection, processing and visualization have been included to allow for individual learning and research paths.
