Hertlin, Fraunhofer-Institut für Informations-und Datenverarbeitung, IITB, Sebastian-Kneipp-Straße 12-14, D-7500 Karlsruhe 1.passung an die spezifischen Anforderungen der jeweiligen Einsatzumgebung.The requirement trend on process control systems causes an increasing system complexity to fulfill the required tasks. The current manufacture -technology -standard based on multi-microcomputer systems mostly presents signal-oriented systems with fixed functions. Complex automation structures need increasing data bases to meet the requirements; this leads to data-oriented systems. This paper describes a portable data-oriented system constructed by linking a method-base-system for flexible function presentation with a realtime data base for data storing and retrieval. The system is usable as a monitoring, control and information system. It allows an easy adaption to the specific requirements of a plant.
