Gauge-independent renormalization of the N2HDM

Abstract: Abstract:The Next-to-Minimal 2-Higgs-Doublet Model (N2HDM) is an interesting benchmark model for a Higgs sector consisting of two complex doublet and one real singlet fields. Like the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric extension (NMSSM) it features light Higgs bosons that could have escaped discovery due to their singlet admixture. Thereby, the model allows for various different Higgs-to-Higgs decay modes. Contrary to the NMSSM, however, the model is not subject to supersymmetric relations restraining its allowed … Show more

“…So far, the construction is similar to the β t scheme of [28], "scheme 3" in [13] or [27] of the SM, but without the proper relation of the VEV to the mass terms, it is not yet complete. To complete it as in [13,27,28], one identifies the bare mass parameters arising from the proper VEV, rather than v 0 , as also noted in [13,[27][28][29][30][31]. The idea is to avoid the inclusion of the gauge dependence coming from δ v into the definition of the mass counterterm δ m as will be shown in the next sections.…”

“…The tree-level perturbative unitarity is obtained by requiring that all absolute eigenvalues of the two-body scalar scattering matrix are less than 8π. The constraints are given by [83][84][85] |λ 3 − λ 4 | < 8π , (A4)…”
