Studies have shown that obesity is associated with increased risk of various neoplasms such as breast, colorectal, esophageal, hepatobiliary and prostate cancer [1,5]. While lifestyle modifications and exercise have been shown to be effective as first line intervention in obese individuals, these modalities have little effect on morbidly obese patients and bariatric surgery remains the most efficient treatment option in this patient population [6,7].
