Gas-wall heat flux analysis on PCI combustion by using the one-dimensional model (Effect of change in heat loss under transient operation)

Abstract: Premixed Compression Ignition (PCI) engine has a potential to improve transient performance as well as exhaust emissions. In this paper, a one-dimensional engine model combined with a heat transfer model is used to analyze heat flux between in-cylinder gas and cylinder wall under steady-state operation and transient characteristics of heat loss and torque under transient operation.
