Abstract:The kinetics of the gas-phase reactions of O( 3 P) atoms with (Z)-CHCl --CHCl, CCl 2 --CH 2 , CCl 2 --CCl 2 and (E/Z)-CFCl --CHCl were studied at 298 K using a discharge flow tube system. The overall rate constants based on the measured afterglow reactions were (2.0 AE 0.2) Â 10 À13 , (11.3 AE 0.9) Â 10 À13 , (1.9 AE 0.3) Â 10 À13 , and (1.4 AE 0.3) Â 10 À14 , respectively, all in units of cm 3 molecule À1 sec À1 . The experiments were carried out under pseudo-first-order conditions with [O( 3 P)] 0 ( [chloroe… Show more
“…Halogen substitution in the alkenes has been discussed in terms of reactivity with O( 3 P) and its relation to the ionization potential and the reactivity with OH radicals. 255 Mechanistic aspects of the oxidation of alkenes with molecular oxygen using a Schiff base-Mn(III) complex as catalyst, in the presence of sodium borohydride, have been reported. 256 Mechanisms for the formation of multiple products observed for liquidphase autoxidation of nonan-5-one have been proposed.…”

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
