Gas chromatographic study of interactions between aliphatic amines and metallic ions

Abstract: INTERACTIONS between metallic ions and aliphatic amines have not been intensively studied up to the present time. It is generally accepted that the coordinating capacity follows the decreasing sequence NH, > NH2R > NHR:! > NR3. Hatfield and Yoke's ( 1 ) findings from the stoichiometry of the complexes formed by condensation of ethyl-, diethyl-or triethylamine on cobalt, zinc, and calcium halides, agree with this order. Drago et al.( 2 ) were able to precipitate from methanol, Ni(I1) complexes with six molecule… Show more

“…Complexes of Ni, Pd, Pt, and Cu with N ‐dodecylosalicyloaldimine were proposed to separate primary and secondary amines and paraffins . Stearates of Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn were also applied to separate amines ,. Very interesting results in the area of the separation of olefins were reported by Gil‐Av and Schurig.…”

“…Many metal stearate salts are currently commercially available, typically including the alkali and alkaline earth metals . However, the stearate salts of platinum group metals, especially palladium, are rarely mentioned in the literature . Since colloidal palladium nanoparticles (PdNPs) have numerous applications, especially as organosol, it is of interest to synthesize new palladium precursors for preparing PdNPs.…”

“…For such exchangers the Gaines-Thomas thermodynamic treatment must be modified (522). Equilibrium in various synthetic zeolites has been studied in aqueous (89) and mixed solvents (40,411) as well as in molten salts, where the inclusion of Na+NOg_ ion pairs was noted (813). Kinetics of isotopic exchange in zeolites (78,79) give clear evidence of the presence of two kinds of exchange sites.…”
