Garnet forming solid state reactions in FeYCaZrO systems with different Y-Fe ratios

Abstract: Solid state reactions in the Fe2O3-Y2O3-CaCO3-ZrO2 mixtures with different Y-Fe ratios (0 < Fe2O3 < 4.75; 3.25 Y2O3; 1.0 CaCO3; 1.0 ZrO2 molar ratio) sintered at 700-1400°C were investigated by x-ray diffraction and DTG(M) methods. The DTG(M) method proved to be very effective in detecting very small amounts of magnetic constituents in the sample.
