Abstract: Background: Accumulation of β-amyloid peptides (Aβ) and its progressive deposition into amyloid plaques are key events in the aetiology of Alzheimer's disease (AD). To date, AD treatment is symptomatic and consists of drugs treating the cognitive decline.
