Gallenblasenpolypen: Prävalenz und Risikofaktoren

Abstract: The prevalence of gallbladder polyps reported in the present study (6.1 %) is higher than figures previously published for populations in Germany or Europe. The majority of polyps were pedunculate and solitary. A typical risk factor profile for gallbladder polyps could not be identified in the present population sample.

“…The current study also confirmed a prevalence (6.9%) of gallbladder polyps in the Chinese population lower than that previously reported in Taiwan (9.5%), 4 but higher than those reported in Danish (4.3%), 26 Japanese (5.6%) 27,28 and German (6.1%) 15 populations. This study demonstrated a higher prevalence of gallbladder polyps in male than in female subjects in all age groups (except in people aged >70 years), which is consistent with findings in some studies, 5,14,29,30 but contrary to those in others 31,32 .…”

“…Many previous studies have shown that the risk factors associated with biliary stones are age, race, gender, obesity and diabetes mellitus; and that those associated with gallbladder polyps are age, gender, body mass index (BMI), HBV infection and diabetes mellitus 4,5,14–16 . However, in China, prevalences of biliary stones and gallbladder polyps are seldom reported and the risk factors for these conditions are incompletely defined, 2,4,14,17 especially in terms of associations between hyperlipidaemia, TGW and hepatitis B status, and gallbladder polyps.…”

“…The prevalence of GBPs ranges from 1.0-6.9% in the West [3]. GBPs have been reported to have prevalences of 1.4 and 6.1% in Germany [4,5]. Zheng et al [6] reported that the incidence of GBPs was 7.3% in a large Chinese population.…”

“…Patients in the cholesterol polyp group were older compared with the non-polyp group (48.28 ± 12.81 vs. 40.9 ± 13.85, respectively, P < 0.001), 21.00 (7.00), P < 0.001]. FPG, hypertension, and TG were not significantly different between the two groups ( Table 1).…”
