Further validation studies of the Wechsler memory scale

Abstract: very critical ("There's nothing there but a messy blot," "This is an insult to my intelligence") and rejected some of the cards. Fremdkritik was not a feature of the records of the other Ss. SUMMARY The Rorschach responses of 14 Ss were studied when the test was given (a) under normal conditions and (b) with posthypnotically induced hostility toward E. Ss were classified in three groups according to their reactions in (b) : those who showed more than a twofold increase in percentage of hostile content in their… Show more

“…In order to make sure those with negative screens were really cognitively normal, we increased the required score for the MoCA-CS by 1. The detailed neuropsychological assessment contained four subtests of the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-Chinese revised (WAIS-RC; block design, digit span, similarities, and arithmetic) [19], three subtests of the Wechsler Memory Scale-Chinese revised (WMS-RC, test A; logical memory and 5-min delayed logical memory tests, experience and orientation, and visual recognition) [20], and the Stroop test (including word reading, color naming, interference-word, and interference-color) [21]. Subjects with negative screens who cooperated well also completed the logical memory, 5-min delayed logical memory, and Stroop tests in order to collect more information regarding memory ability and executive function of the participants.…”

“…There have been few published studies of the Wechsler Memory Scale. The earlier investigations attempted to discriminate between differently labelled psychiatric groups, such as schizophrenics and organic brain syndromes, on the basis of total scores on the Scale (Cohen, 1950;Howard, 1950 and1954;Parker, 1957). Given the 1.…”

“…Mean increases on the remaining two items are quite insignificant. It would seem that the trend exhibited by these findings at least enables a partially affirmative response to an earlier question of the writer's (Howard, 1954): "May we reasonably expect that increasing chronicity is paralleled by increasingly impaired performance? "…”
