Further investigations of the Athavale method for the determination of silver with silver-molybdenum electrodes

Abstract: A wave a t about -0.55 V in the currentpotential graph of aqueous solutions containing silver nitrate and sulphosalicylic acid obtained by using silver and molybdenum electrodes has been shown to be due t o complex molybdenum ions produced by a first-order exchange reaction a t the niolybdenum electrode and not to silver ions as reported by previous workers.VARIOUS methods for the determination of silver ions in aqueous and non-aqueous solutions and in the presence of complexing agents have been investigated.l… Show more
