“…The morphological terminology follows Jocqué & Dippenaar‐Schoeman () and Bolzern et al . (). The following abbreviations are used: AER, anterior eye row; ALE, anterior lateral eyes; ALS, anterior lateral spinnerets; AME, anterior median eyes; bulbL, distance of the cymbium base to the most distal tip of the male bulb; CB, cymbium breadth; CBD, combined duct (vulva without recognizable RC); CD, copulatory duct; CL, carapace length; CLY1, clypeus height under AME; CLY2, clypeus height under ALE; CO, copulatory opening at female epigyne; CW, carapace width; FD, fertilization duct; MA, median apophysis at male bulb; OL, opisthosoma length; OW, opisthosoma width; PER, posterior eye row; PLE, posterior lateral eyes; PLS, posterior lateral spinnerets; PME, posterior median eyes; PMS, posterior median spinnerets; RC, receptaculum; RTA, retrolateral tibial apophysis (used here as the sum of all structures in retrolateral position of the tibia of the male pedipalp); STL, sternum length; STW, sternum width.…”

“…Currently the Agelenidae (including the Coelotinae) comprises 68 genera and 1152 species (Platnick, ). During recent years many taxonomic papers with descriptions of new genera and species of Agelenidae (including Coelotinae) have been published from Asia (Nishikawa & Ono, ; Guseinov, Marusik & Koponen, ; Ovtchinnikov & Inayatullah, ; Tanikawa, ; Xu, Li & Wang, , ; Zhang, Zhu & Wang, ; Zhang et al ., , b; Chami‐Kranon, Likhitrakarn & Dankittipakul, ; Wang & Jäger, , ; Xu & Li, , ; Zhang, Zhu & Song, ; Dankittipakul & Wang, ; Dankittipakul & Zhang, ; Wang, Xu & Li, ; Zhang, Li & Xu, ; Zhang & Zhu, ), Europe (Kovblyuk, ; Barrantes & Eberhard, ; Gasparo, ; Bolzern, Hänggi & Burckhardt, ; Kovblyuk & Ponomarev, ; Deltshev, ; Bolzern, Crespo & Cardoso, ; Bolzern et al ., ; Bolzern & Hervé, ; Bosmans, ), and North America (Ayoub, Riechert & Small, ; Stocks, ).…”

“…The color description is based on ethanolpreserved specimens. The nomenclature of morphological structures follows Jocqué & Dippenaar-Schoeman (2006) and Bolzern et al (2008). The following abbreviations are used: AER 5 anterior eye row; ALE 5 anterior lateral eyes; AME 5 anterior median eyes; ALS 5 anterior lateral spinnerets; PMS 5 posterior median spinnerets; PER 5 posterior eye row; PLA 5 posterior lateral eyes; PME 5 posterior median eyes; PLS 5 posterior lateral spinnerets; RTA 5 retrolateral tibial apophysis (used here as the sum of all structures in retrolateral position of the tibia of the male pedipalp).…”

“…Koch 1837 Tribe Tegenariini Lehtinen 1967 The tribe Tegenariini comprises the genera Azerithonica Guseinov et al 2005, Hadites, Histopona and the taxonomically problematic Malthonica-Tegenaria complex, including Pseudotegenaria. Guseinov et al (2005) transferred several species from Tegenaria to Malthonica using characters of doubtful phylogenetic significance (Jä ger 2006, see also Bolzern et al 2008;Bolzern et al 2009). These transfers are not followed here: instead we adopt the narrow definition of Malthonica by Barrientos & Cardoso (2007), which includes only the type species, Malthonica lusitanica Simon 1898, along with M. oceanica Barrientos & Cardoso 2007.…”
