Functionalization of silk fabric using hyperbranched polymer coated attapulgite nanoparticles for prospective UV-resistance and antibacterial applications

Abstract: Herein, the Attapulgite nanoparticles (ATP NPs) coated silk fabric was prepared by impregnation method using hyperbranched polymer as addition agent. The ATP NPs and prepared silk fabrics were characterized by means of scanning electron microscope (SEM), ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Energy Dispersive Spectrometer (EDS). The results of SEM, EDS, FTIR and XRD confirmed that ATP NPs were successfully coated on the surface … Show more

“…Generally, the ultraviolet ray is divided into three fragments by the wavelength: ultraviolet A (UVA) (315∼400 nm), ultraviolet B (UVB) (280∼315 nm) and ultraviolet C (UVC) (200∼280 nm). 2124 In order to absorb ultraviolet rays in a full spectrum of ultraviolet rays, inorganic ultraviolet absorbers, such as titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ) nanoparticles, were added into benzotriazole coatings. As an ultraviolet blocking material, TiO 2 is attracting more and more attention because of its excellent heat resistance, nontoxicity and physiochemical stability.…”
