“…It emerged as an independent prognostic factor for the PFS of patients ( p < 0.05), consistent with prior literature 21,22 The disadvantage is that this study failed to perform further genetic testing for negative immunohistochemistry results of SDHB to confirm changes in the gene (or other subunits) to provide guidance for postoperative monitoring of patients and the screening of their relatives. Due to the rarity of RPGL and the primary focus of many domestic and international studies on small sample sizes and case reports, surgical excision is the recommended primary treatment for the initial tumor 23 . Limited treatment options and the presence of metastatic disease, particularly multi‐site metastasis, pose challenges and lead to poor prognoses.…”

“…Due to the rarity of RPGL and the primary focus of many domestic and international studies on small sample sizes and case reports, surgical excision is the recommended primary treatment for the initial tumor. 23 Limited treatment options and the presence of metastatic disease, particularly multi-site metastasis, pose challenges and lead to poor prognoses. Based on current clinical consensus, early surgery or comprehensive treatment should be attempted to enhance the survival rates of patients and mitigate the risks associated with poor prognosis evaluations, which may lead to deaths and related complications.…”

“…Paragangliomas are further classified as functioning and non-functioning tumors. Functioning paragangliomas are manifested by the classic Menards triad: Cephalgia, Tachycardia and diaphoresis [1] , [2] , [4] , [6] , [8] , [11] , [13] , [16] . In our case symptoms were a result of catecholamine hypersecretion which included severe headache and transient loss of sight (complication of severe hypertension).…”
