“…In agreement with this study's results, among the pre-dialysis patients evaluated in other studies, the "social relationships" domain obtained a higher mean score (29)(30) . A study that divided individuals into three groups in the pre-dialysis phase (according to the stage of CKD) and compared the QOL scores between them (G1 = stages 1 and 2, G2 = stage 3, G3 = stages 4 and 5).…”

“…In our study, the lowest mean score of WHOQOL-BREF was found in the "Psychological" domain and the "physical" domain had the second lowest score. Results found in other studies indicate a lowest score in the "physical/physical dimension" domain (26)(27)(28)(29) and "general health" (30) . The results of the study that separated pre-dialysis patients in 3 groups (25) point to G2 and G3 as the components of the "physical" review as the lowest mean score.…”

“…Considering the values of waist circumference above the upper limit of 102 cm for men and 88 cm for women, a percentage of 26.0% of abdominal obesity patients was obtained, and the overall mean was 87 ± 12, 9cm. It is important to note that the average waist circumference obtained is lower when compared to the current literature, being a positive indicator (12) .…”

“…In patients with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), both kidney disease and hemodialysis treatment may severely affect the cardiorespiratory and musculoskeletal systems, contributing to a reduction in functional capacity (FC) [2, 3]. Functional impairment adversely impacts patients’ physical and mental capabilities and, consequently, their ability to perform daily activities and maintain independence and social interactions [47]. Furthermore, decreased FC is one of the major risk factors for cardiac death in this population [810], which is 10 to 20 times higher than in the general population [11].…”
