Abstract:Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) is a single-stranded, positive-sense RNA virus of the Alphavirus genus. CHIKV is an arbovirus, whose spread is mediated by Aedes species mosquitos and is associated with debilitating joint pain and febrile symptoms in infected humans.
