“…Otherwise, rodents fed with silymarin or green tea expressively condensed cell propagation by means of a reduction in PCNA stain. In the scientific literatures, enormous number of medicinal plants with hepatoprotective potential has been pronounced by several investigators ( Bardi et al, 2014 , Salama et al, 2018 , Kaur et al, 2020 , Abood et al, 2020 , Elnfarawy et al, 2021 ).…”

“…Liver is principal interior and metabolically active structure in human being is that play energetic role in digestion, secretion, blood detoxification, and storage of numerous nutrients and minerals. Due to these fundamental roles of liver in human body, hepatic disorders remain to be amongst the major world public health problem ( Abood et al, 2020 , Kaur et al, 2020 , Chen et al, 2021 ). Therefore, discovery of most effective and less toxic treatment for liver diseases have been increasingly gaining attention.…”

“…In studies on the toxicity of cadmium, it has been shown that the serum hepatic marker enzymes AST, ALT and ALP activities are increased. Hydrogen cyanide toxicity occurs as a result of enzymatic destruction of cyanogenic glycosides contained in plants such as flaxseed (27)(28)(29)(30). The elevation of hepatic markers is also notable in the hepatotoxicity study conducted with linamarin, which is a cyanogenic glycosides (31).…”

“…Studies have shown that in rats treated with cadmium, the balance of prooxidant / antioxidant was disrupted, lipid peroxidation increased, and total antioxidant capacity decreased (28,29). Cyanide hepatotoxicity increases oxidation with a similar effect to cadmium while reducing the antioxidant parameters (33).…”

“…Several reports indicated that the hepatotoxicity of Cd was attributed mainly ROS generation, protein, lipid peroxidation, and in ammation since the main mode of action of this metal is the generation of ROS and the diminish of the antioxidant defense system (SOD, CAT, GSH, and GPx) (Andjelkovic et al 2019;Rahimzadeh et al 2017). The generation of ROS including hydroxyl, hydrogen peroxide, and superoxide radicals modulate different components in the cell components mainly protein, lipids, and carbohydrates leading to the discrepancy of the metabolic dysfunction and cell integrity (Kaur et al 2020). Moreover, MDA is a well-known player of lipid peroxide, whose malignant activities lead to injury to parenchymal cells (Andjelkovic et al 2019) and its forms interfere with many biomolecules such as DNA, acetaldehyde, and the advanced glycation end products that comprise cell integrity (Li et al 2015).…”
