Full Phase Encoding for Digital Holographic Encryption Using Liquid Crystal Spatial Light Modulators

Abstract: This work describes a full phase encoding technique for digital holographic encryption based on liquid crystal spatial light modulators, which are operated in the phase modulation mode to perform the phase-encoding object and the double random phase key masks for optical Fresnel encryption. The architecture of four-step phase-shifting digital holography is used to generate the double key holograms for implementing the encryption and decryption. Experimental results show the feasibility of the full phase encodi… Show more

“…researched for data security since they can provide higher encryption speed than non-optical encryption techniques . In particular, double-random phase encryption (DRPE), one of the main optical encryption techniques, has been well investigated and improved as follows: DRPE using digital holography [2,3] , photoncounting DRPE [4,5] , DRPE using fractional Fourier transform [6][7][8] , and DRPE using orthogonal encoding [18,19] .…”

“…Optical encryption has been widely investigated for information security because of its high encryption speed . As a representative optical encryption technique, double random phase encryption (DRPE) has been well studied and improvements have been developed, such as DRPE using the Fresnel domain [2], DRPE using a full-phase processor [3], DRPE using digital holography [4,5], photon-counting DRPE [6,7], and DRPE using fractional Fourier transform [8][9][10].…”
