The catalysts by incipient wetness impregnation method were prepared and characterized by XRD, BET, H 2 -TPD, NH 3 -TPD and H 2 -TPR analysis, and the catalyst activity was detected by WFSM-3060 high-pressure reactor. Effective double metal catalysts were produced by using γ-Al 2 O 3 as carrier and Co and Ni as activity center, and more effectiveness by using Ce to modify. The results revealed that the 15Co5Ni-10Ce catalyst was the best in producing bio-fuels. The catalyst had good thermal stability, three kinds of adsorbed sites and three kinds of acidic sites. Compared with sintering, the catalyst deactivation was due to coke deposition. The results of FT -IR, SF-3, GC and GC-MS indicated that reaction temperature is the key factor and that oil velocity is a very important factor. The optimized condition was at reaction temperature of 450°C, reaction pressure of 3.0 MPa, oil velocity of 0.1 mL/min and the gas velocity of 35 mL/min, respectively. The alkanes and alkenes content of liquid products are 50.02% and 40.03% under the optimized condition. The main products are the hydrocarbon compounds under C 18 . The results of GC online and trace water determination showed that the main products of oxygen in the oil are CO and CO 2 , and that the minor product is H 2 O. The importance and the economical production of the Non-ester renewable diesel from vegetable oil are presented. From the results of FT-IR，SF-3 and GC-MS, the generating mechanism of Non-ester renewable diesel was deduced.

Abstract---In this study cottonseed oil was catalytically hydrotreated to produce renewable diesel. The effect of temperature on the diesel fraction in the product was studied. Three different types of catalysts were used where the optimal operating temperature was determined from the results obtained by means of GC-MS analysis. The catalysts that were used was a NiMo, CoMo as well as a NiMo catalyst that is optimised for the hydrotreatment of bio-oils (NiMo-Bio). The temperature was varied from 350°C to 390°C at a constant pressure of 83 bar and LHSV of 2 h -1 . The optimal temperatures were 390°C for both the NiMo-Bio and CoMo catalyst and 370°C for the NiMo. The diesel fractions in these products were above 99%. The dominant deoxygenation pathway was determined to be hydrodeoxygenation.

ResumenSe estudió la hidrogenación de aceite crudo de Jatropha usando dos catalizadores comerciales níquel/sílice y níquel/alúmina. Se realizó un diseño experimental 2 3 , comprendiendo las variables temperatura, presión y contenido de catalizador. El aceite y sus productos de reacción fueron caracterizados mediante la medición de composición y los índices de acidez, saponificación y yodo. Los catalizadores se caracterizaron por área BET, FT-IR, TPR y TGA. Dentro de los resultados más relevantes del presente trabajo están: a) el catalizador níquel/sílice mostró mayor actividad, debido posiblemente a su mayor área superficial, lo cual pudo favorecer la dispersión del níquel; b) se encontró una alta estabilidad a la oxidación del catalizador níquel/sílice, lo que le confiere un alto grado de reutilización; c) se obtuvo un producto con una hidrogenación mayor al 98% con potenciales aplicaciones en lubricantes textiles, aditivos suavizantes, entre otros. Among the most relevant results are: a) The catalyst nickel/silica showed higher activity, possibly due to its larger surface area, which could favor the dispersion of nickel; b) high stability to oxidation by catalyst nickel/silica was found, which gives a high degree of reuse; c) a product with hydrogenation greater than 98% with the potential to apply in textile lubricants, softening additives, among others.
