“…The hydrogen atom 2 of imidazole ring is represented by the signal at 7.91 ppm as singlet proton. The disappearance of the proton signal at ∼6.11 ppm of the CH vinyl group of imidazole confirms its substitution with the PVC chain . There are many multiplet signals which can be attributed to the hydrogen protons of CH of PVC chain that appeared at 3.34–3.51 ppm and at 4.22–4.44 ppm, in addition to that of the CH 2 of PVC chain appearing at 2.13–2.19 ppm.…”

“…The IR peaks at 627 cm −1 and 825 cm −1 correspond to CH and CCl vibration stretching of PVC, and at 1435 cm −1 corresponds to CH. Moreover, indicative peaks appear at 1233 cm −1 and 1503 cm −1 pointing to CN and CC of the aromatic ring, respectively . Another peak appears at 1648 cm −1 denoting to CC for the attached methylene group to nitrogen in the imidazole molecule, hence confirming the inclusion of the vinylimidazole ring in the backbone chains of PVC.…”
