Front Cover: Synthesis of Nontoxic Protoflavone Derivatives through Selective Continuous‐Flow Hydrogenation of the Flavonoid B‐Ring (ChemPlusChem 2/2018)
Abstract:The front cover shows an aerial view of the Bicaz Gorge (Transylvania) with a set of twisty hairpin bends symbolizing the challenges of selective hydrogenation of the flavonoid B‐ring. The synthetic method presented can help suppress the toxic bioactivity properties of protoflavonoids thereby opening new avenues in the pharmacological investigation of these unique natural products and their synthetic analogs.
