Front Cover: Similar but Not the Same: First Kinetic and Structural Analyses of a Methanol Dehydrogenase Containing a Europium Ion in the Active Site (ChemBioChem 11/2018)

Abstract: The front cover picture shows in the background the biggest fumarole (la Boca Grande) in the Solfatara volcano crater, the home of the rare earth element–dependent bacterium Methylacidiphilum fumariolicum SolV. In front, the structure of the europium methanol dehydrogenase that was isolated from SolV and subsequently crystallized and characterized in our study is shown. More information can be found in the full paper by L. J. Daumann et al. on page 1147 in Issue 11, 2018 (DOI: 10.1002/cbic.201800130).
