Abstract: Purpose Guidelines recommend starting glucose-lowering drug upon type 2 diabetes mellitus diagnosis together with lifestyle changes. Lifestyle changes are as essential as the drug, earlier recommendations allowed some months of lifestyle changes while being drug-free.
