In an educational program on self-management of arthritis implemented by Arthritis Foundation staff called "Bone Up on Arthritis," investigators reported improved scores on measures of self care, helplessness, pain, dysfunction, and depression (Goeppinger, Macnee, Anderson, Boutaugh, & Stewart, 1995).
