Process Performance Management (PPM) supports companies in planning, monitoring, and improving process performance. Many PPM tools are available, but often companies choose not to utilize these tools. Instead they implement and use proprietary in-house PPM solutions. A possible explanation for not using a standard tool can either be seen in the tools' incomplete support of the functional requirements of the individual company's business context and needs, or in the missing knowledge of decision makers concerning a proper tool evaluation and selection. These two questions are addressed by this paper. We identified the most relevant functional requirements of a PPM-tool by conducting multiple literature reviews. The functional requirements were operationalized by evaluation criteria from literature. We performed an evaluation of ten selected PPM-tools to validate the applicability of the evaluation criteria. This evaluation let us describe the average criteria coverage for each of the functional requirements and for each tool to elaborate the main differences. Additionally, we analyze tool support of the functional requirements and deduct evaluation recommendations for certain business contexts.

Process mining offers a set of techniques for gaining data-based insights into business processes from event logs. The literature acknowledges the potential benefits of using process mining techniques in Six Sigma-based process improvement initiatives. However, a guideline that is explicitly dedicated on how process mining can be systematically used in Six Sigma initiatives is lacking. To address this gap, the Process Mining for Six Sigma (PMSS) guideline has been developed to support organizations in systematically using process mining techniques aligned with the DMAIC (Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control) model of Six Sigma. Following a design science research methodology, PMSS and its tool support have been developed iteratively in close collaboration with experts in Six Sigma and process mining, and evaluated by means of focus groups, demonstrations and interviews with industry experts. The results of the evaluations indicate that PMSS is useful as a guideline to support Six Sigma-based process improvement activities. It offers a structured guideline for practitioners by extending the DMAIC-based standard operating procedure. PMSS can help increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of Six Sigma-based process improving efforts. This work extends the body of knowledge in the fields of process mining and Six Sigma, and helps closing the gap between them. Hence, it contributes to the broad field of quality management.

Анализом модела сагледани су основни елементи који га сачињавају. Савремено окружење захтева да се предузећа морају посматрати холистички, те су сви ови елементи груписани у један модел, који их посматра с више различитих аспеката. Ту се могу уочити финансијски, стратегијски, организациони и информационо-технолошки приступ. Кључни допринос овог рада јесте у сагледавању и сажимању свих важних области пословања предузећа у процесу управљања перформансама.Abstract: This paper presents the integrated theoretical model of enterprise performance management, which is composed of the existing theoretical and models used in practice for performance measurement. The analysis of the model examined the basic elements that compose them. A modern environment requires that enterprises should be observed holistically, and all of these elements are grouped into a single model that looks at them from a number of different aspects. The financial, strategic, organizational and information -technology approach can be noticed here. The key contribution of this paper is in the viewing and summary of all important areas of enterprise's business in the performance management process.
