For the first time in the history of the global school system, the adoption of distance education modalities became necessary in response to the measures and restrictions implemented to stem the global pandemic generated by COVID-19. Online learning is not a new topic in education; it refers to studying for a certificate using online platforms that offer online courses rather than visiting lectures. Distance learning is a type of training that involves online learning under the supervision of a classroom teacher, but it can still be a little-known modality for both teachers and students. Preparing students for interactions and emotion management is essential in any teaching mode to maximize the learning and participation of the entire class group. This issue becomes even more critical in distance learning because it lacks those aspects of immediacy and concreteness typical of face-to-face interaction. The present article attempts to review the impact of distance learning versus traditional education brought about by the forced experience of distance learning due to the pandemic. In summary, this research has provided some initial findings about distant learning research during the pandemic age. To have a successful learning experience, students must be aware of their responsibilities and master their areas of autonomy, emotions, and feelings. Teaching at a distance is a challenge. As a general rule, learning activities that are successful in a traditional classroom may be adapted to the distance learning setting, but this will take more than a few minor tweaks to the slides or handouts. In order to engage pupils and maintain their attention and motivation levels, these techniques will probably call for more imaginative and inventive ways.

PurposeThis paper is a case study of student response systems used in large-class teaching. It considers the benefits, including the engagement of students and academic gains such as reduced administration. The constraints and impacts in classroom teaching are noted, drawing upon the experience of two teachers with their learning captured as a means of dissemination of practice to support other teachers who may be considering adopting and later adapting such practices (Gribble and Beckmann, 2023).Design/methodology/approachAn autoethnographical account was undertaken using an action-learning approach as a sense-making exercise. These accounts enabled a depth of insight beyond the anecdotal evidence experienced by an individual teacher alone.FindingsThe findings show that while student response systems have constraints, these can be addressed by putting pedagogical concerns in front of any technology deployment, reaping benefits for students and teachers. Once engaged in using the system, students become more willing to enter further discussions. However, the limitations of both systems indicate that there may be a need for multiple systems to be available based on the pedagogical needs of the class.Practical implicationsThe exploration of student response systems and outcomes of positive engagement by students in classroom settings provides insight to those wishing to explore such systems for use in large-class teaching settings.Originality/valueThis work extends discussions surrounding interactivity using student response systems. Additionally, practical insights from the users into their experiences with their students in using such systems provide alternatives for engagement in delivering large-class learning at scale.

In the pandemic period, the health sector has vital roles for the people. At the same time, it gets the necessity to study and review of this field. Health services and hospitals consist of different knowledge and qualification personnel's. In addition, these factors are getting difference among the people. Increasing motivation closely related to positive effect to working performance. Health institutions and hospitals have complex organizational structure consisting of personnel with different knowledge and qualifications. In addition, the effects of these factors on personnel motivation vary from person to person. Our aim is to find out the actors that affect the motivation of the personnel working in a health institution and which factor is more or less effective in the work environment. It is known by everyone that an increasing professionalization in health management will increase the performance and productivity of the personnel who become a whole with the company they work for, are aware of their duties and responsibilities and can give all their motivation to the work they do. In this study, performance criteria and motivation factors searched and examined. Management factors, individual factors and occupational other factors are analyzed in small health business company. Survey and performance applied analysis of 67 personnel belonging to a small health business during the COVID -19 pandemic period.
