From a Magazine for ‘Practical Gentlemen’ to an Academic Journal: One Hundred Years of Tesg

Abstract: Dr. H. Blink (1852–1931) founded the Nederlandsche Vereeniging voor Economische Geographie in December 1909. The primary objective of this Dutch Association for Economic Geography was to publish a monthly magazine. Bearing the name Tijdschrift voor Economische Geographie, this periodical was the first in the world to be devoted exclusively to the field.
