“…The VCNL4010 proximity sensor provides a light source, which passes through the clear gel and is reflected off the user's skin applied to the gel and then sensed by the detector within the VCNL4010. The signal that is reflected will alter when the reflecting surface moves under pressure [40] allowing for forces to be measured based on the change in pressure as indicated by the reflected signal.
