Frequencies of polymorphisms of the Rh, Kell, Kidd, Duffy and Diego systems of Santa Catarina, Southern Brazil

Abstract: BackgroundRed blood cell genes are highly polymorphic with the distribution of alleles varying between different populations and ethnic groups. “…The Chi-square (χ 2 ) test was used to evaluate whether the observed genotype frequencies agreed with the expected ones under the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium.
