French ambulatory cesarean: Mother and newborn safety

Abstract: ObjectiveTo evaluate mother and newborn child safety after French ambulatory cesarean (FAUCS).MethodsProspective comparative cohort study in Tunisia (January–June 2018). Pregnant women indicated for primary or repeat cesarean at term underwent FAUCS or Misgav Ladach cesarean (MLC). “…Twenty years later, Ami et al [38] described an innovative extraperitoneal approach to CS that can be used on an ambulatory mode under the name of the French ambulatory cesarean section ( FAUCS ). Being associated with less need for intravenous painkillers, shorter hospital stays and earlier returns to home, make this ambulatory technique an interesting alternative to the classic technique [38] , [39] .…”

“…peritoneal French Ambulatory cesarean section technique was safe and can reduce postoperative pain while accelerating recovery, suggesting that this technique should be more widely used. 36,37 Our study has proved a significant association between previous CS and postoperative pain. When there was an experience of previous CS, suffering from moderate to severe pain increased by more than 2 folds and can be explained by increased risks of uterine dehiscence, bleeding, postoperative infection, adhesion, longer operating time, and hospital stay.…”
