“…Due to the existence of the photoresponsive azo benzene (azo) groups on the COF skeletons, TpAzo, NKCOF-1, NKCOF-60, and NKCOF-61 gels could serve as excellent light absorption and photothermal conversion materials (Figure ). COF hydrogels were prepared via solvent exchange and were then used for the following studies. Ultraviolet–visible near–infrared (UV–vis–NIR) absorption spectra were measured to investigate the light absorption ability of the gels.…”

“…To solve the problems of complex operation and material layering, we designed and synthesized a series of sturdy, porous, azo-rich COFs (NKCOF-47, -48, -49, and -50). 60 The NKCOF-47 film exhibited an excellent evaporation rate of 2.85 kg/m 2 /h and exhibited excellent long-term stability in solar steam power generation (Figure 14a−e). The vapor generation rate of NKCOF-47 film under 1 sun irradiation is as high as 3.02 kg/m 2 /h, and the energy conversion efficiency is as high as 94%, which is the best among all solar thermal evaporators that use COFs as solar thermal materials (Figure 14h).…”

“…Nowadays, there is a contradiction between the demand and accessibility for clean water resource owing to the rapid advancement of civilization. Effective use of the abundant seawater resources on earth is a viable way to tackle the scarcity of water crisis. Among a variety of technologies for seawater purification, solar vapor generation could be more efficient and reliable given that solar power is the only energy source needed, which is in line with environmental protection and sustainable development. In the past decade, research on interfacial solar vapor generation has made remarkable achievements in enhancing the efficiency of water production and realizing salt resistance during long-term use, which further increases the possibility of moving the technology toward practical application. …”
