“…These values of reactivity ratios are close to those described by Reddy et al, and they are in the range of other copolymeric pairs methacrylates−VP (i.e., furfuryl methacrylate−VP, r FM = 3.92 and r VP = 0.004; methyl methacrylate−VP, r MMA = 5 and r VP = 0.02; glycidil methacrylate−VP, r GLI = 3.8 and r VP = 0.03; phenyl methacrylate−VP, r PHM = 4.49 and r VP = 0.05). For these systems an essential random copolymer rich in HEMA units can be expected at relatively low conversion, but at high conversion most of the residual VP monomer molecules polymerize, mainly in the last steps of the reaction, giving rise to copolymer chains with relatively long blocks of VP units and a distribution of sequences that depends on the average composition of the reaction medium.…”

“…The situation developed when the monomer reactivity ratios differ greatly from one another has been extensively described for different systems such as copolymerization of vinyl acetate28–33 and vinylpyrrolidone34–44 with meth(acrylic) monomers.…”

“…The columns were calibrated by using purposely prepared narrow-distribution PVP standards. [12] Furfuryl methacrylate N-Vinyl-2-pyrrolidone 3.92 0.004 [13] NMR spectra were recorded with a Bruker AC-400 FT-NMR spectometer at 400 MHz using Bruker software. Deuterated chloroform (CDCl 3 ) was used as an internal standard and the operating temperature was 298 K.…”
