Free convection of a hybrid nanofluid past a vertical plate embedded in a porous medium with anisotropic permeability

Abstract: Purpose This study aims to carry out an analysis for flow and heat transfer of a new hybrid nanofluid over a vertical flat surface embedded in a saturated porous medium with anisotropic permeability at high Rayleigh number. Here the hybrid nanofluid is considered as the working fluid, with different kinds of small particles in nanoscale being suspended. D… Show more

“…For practical applications of oxide particles of nanofluids higher than 40 nm, the model proposed by Maïga et al, 62 is considered a better priority. In this model, the effective properties of a nanofluid 63 can be estimated from the following set of equations 23 : ρhnf=(1φ)ρbf+φρp, MathClass-open(ρCpMathClass-close)hnf=(1φ)MathClass-open(ρCpMathClass-close)f+φMathClass-open(ρCpMathClass-close)np, MathClass-open(ρβMathClass-close)hnf=(1φ)MathClass-open(ρβMathClass-close)f+φMathClass-open(ρCpMathClass-close)np, αhnf=khnf(ρCp)hnf, khnf=knp+(m1)kf(m1)(knormalfknp)φknp+(m1)kf+(knormalfknp)φkf...…”

“…In the present paper, Al 2 O 3 -Cu/water nanofluid is adopted as the hybrid nanofluid, which was experimentally used in (Suresh, 2012). Very important information on nanofluids and hybrid nanofluids can be also found in the published papers by Cimpean and Pop (2019), Bibi et al (2019), Khan et al (2019) and Waini et al (2020d).…”

“…Waini et al 14 have investigated the mixed convection of a hybrid nanofluid flow along a vertical surface embedded in a porous medium. Bibi 15 explored the free convection of a hybrid nanofluid past a vertical plate embedded in an anisotropic permeability porous medium. Vemula et al 16 recently investigated the impact of internal heat generation and the Lorentz force on unsteady hybrid nanoliquid flow and heat transmission along a moving plate with nonuniform temperature.…”
