Franklin Lakes: Creating a Permanent Solution for a Limited Seasonal Need

Abstract: This article discusses an increasing water demand situation in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, related to its increased population. Also, seasonal peaks in demand and more rigorous federal water quality standards led to the simple solution of combining the ancient diatomaceous earth (DE) filter media with a modern vacuum‐filter system and enhanced with the newer technology of cationic polymers.
