Fracture mapping of lineaments and recognizing their tectonic significance using SPOT-5 satellite data: A case study from the Bajestan area, Lut Block, east of Iran

“…In this sense, the mapping of structures directly in the field is conducive to the correct discrimination of the different fabric elements, either planar or linear, in addition to their measurement (either by using analog compasses or mobile devices) and visualization. When regional surveys are undertaken using analog compasses or mobile devices, the visualization of the data directly in the outcrop is fundamental for differentiating structural domains, validating tectonic drag directions, paleocurrent directions and structural trends, among others (Potter and Pettijohn, 1963;Nemec, 1988;Hatcher, 1995;Gabrielsen and Braathen, 2014;Abdunaser, 2015;Ahmadirouhani et al, 2017;Han et al, 2018;Rajasekhar et al, 2018).
