Fractal dipole antenna for UWB applications

Abstract: A double‐printed elliptical slot inscribed, rectangular fractal dipole antenna for ultrawideband (UWB) applications is presented. The fractal geometry is applied to the dipole elements for size miniaturization and bandwidth enhancement. Further, bandwidth enhancement is achieved using linearly tapered microstrip feed line. The antenna has reflection coefficient less than −10 dB for the frequency range of 3.7–17 GHz.
