Four sorts of meson

Abstract: An extensive spectrum of light non-strange qq states up to a mass of 2400 MeV has emerged from Crystal Barrel and PS172 data onpp → Resonance → A + B in 17 final states. These data are reviewed with detailed comments on the status of each resonance. For I = 0, C = +1, the spectrum is complete and very secure.Six 'extra' states are identified. Four of them have I = 0, C = +1 and spinparities predicted for glueballs. Their mass ratios agree closely with predictions from Lattice QCD calculations. However, branchi… Show more

“…After many dormant years with essentially no incoming new data, a recent systematic partial wave analysis of thē pp annihilation at LEAR has revealed a lot of new meson states in the mass range 1.8 -2.4 GeV [8,9]. These new experimental results turned out to be in line with [7], while the higher two curves include the new experimental and theoretical states as described in the text.…”

“…This kind of chiral symmetry restoration implies that the excited hadron states fill out multiplets of the chiral U (2) L ×U (2) R group. Indeed, the newly discovered meson states [8,9] turned out to systematically fall into almost degenerate chiral multiplets with a few missing states yet to be discovered [13,14].…”

“…The identification of the glueball states in the hadron spectrum is one of the most exciting topics of hadron spectroscopy [11,12,13,14]. In the scalar sector of J P C = 0 ++ there are three candidates for the most low-lying mass glueball states as f 0 (1370), f 0 (1500) and f 0 (1710).…”

“…Due to a substantial s-quark component it was treated also as the KK molecule [5]. Lattice simulations and experimental exploration seem confirm assumptions on the exotic nature of f 0 ð980Þ and some other hadrons [6][7][8][9]. Suggestions about a diquark-antidiquark structure of the light scalar mesons including f 0 ð980Þ one were made on the basis of new theoretical analysis in Refs.…”
