“…Anatomical measurements were made from 15–20 apothecial sections, and the lower and higher values show the minimum and maximum of the range. Various publications (Staiger 2002; Nakanishi et al 2003; Kalb et al 2004; Archer 2006, 2009; Qing-Feng & Jiang-Chun 2008; Makhija et al 2009; Sharma & Makhija 2009 a , b ; Sharma & Khadilkar 2011, 2012) were consulted for species identifications. Images were taken using ZEISS Scope A1 (AX10) and Axio cam ERc 5s, and illustrations were prepared using Coral Draw (version 12).…”

“…Kalb et al , D. pruinosum (Eschw.) Kalb et al , D. rufopruinosum (A. W. Archer) Kalb et al , D. reniforme (Fee) Kalb et al and D. agumbense B. O. Sharma & Khadilkar (Kalb et al 2004; Sharma & Khadilkar 2012). The new taxon closely resembles D. pruinosum , which has a greenish white, smooth, dull thallus, conspicuous, immersed, white, irregular apothecia, a densely pruinose disc, 150–200 µm high hymenium, 1-spored asci and multicelled, muriform ascospores, but it can be distinguished by an open and ±convex apothecial disc, laterally and basally carbonized proper exciple, and smaller ascospores, 100–150 (–175)×20–30 µm (Kalb et al 2004).…”

“…Several new taxa discovered in this material are formally introduced here, focusing on the genus Diorygma. The high number of new Diorygma species seems astonishing, especially after the world-monograph by Kalb et al (2004) and the subsequent additions to this genus by Indian lichenologists (Sharma & Makhia 2009a, b;Makhia et al 2009;Sharma & Khadilkar, 2012). Within a few years, 16 new species were described in these papers…”

“…So far c . 50 species are known in the genus, half of which were treated in a preliminary monograph (Kalb et al 2004), the other half in subsequent papers (Cáceres 2007; Archer 2009; Makhija et al 2009; Sharma & Makhija 2009 a , b ; Lumbsch et al 2011; Sharma & Khadilkar 2012; Lima et al 2013).…”
