Abstract:In this paper, we first deduce a model of Praseodymiumdoped fiber amplifiers using the transitions between different energy states and the rate equations. Base on this model, the characteristics of Praseodymium-doped fiber amplifiers are investigated numerically. An experimental Praseodymium-doped fiber amplifier operating around 1300 nm is implemented to verify the model.
