“…The DBCG RT Committee expects the study to provide an evidence-based introduction to SDM in RT departments across Denmark. This is in line with the DBCG tradition of introducing new treatments or strategies through national, evidence-based trials [25][26][27][28]. The hypothesis is that SDM supported by a customized PtDA will increase patient-reported engagement in the decision making on adjuvant RT and thus enhance patient agency in an important life decision.…”

Further, these earlier studies only made rather crude adjustments for disease characteristics.…”

“…The Danish Breast Cancer Group (DBCG) database is a nationwide clinical breast cancer database initiated in 1977. 16 Previous quality assessments of the database have shown a near complete registration of breast cancer cases. 17,18 Using the unique civil registration number assigned to all Danish citizens, info on diagnosis from the DBCG was linked to the Danish Pathology Register, which contains detailed information on all human tissues examined by a pathological department in Denmark.…”

“…This study used data from the Danish Breast Cancer Group (DBCG), a population-based clinical registry that has collected data on nearly all breast cancer patients in Denmark since 1977 [19,20]. The source population consisted of 11,251 female residents of the Jutland Peninsula in Demark with a primary breast cancer diagnosis of stage I, II, or III as defined by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) [21].…”
