Formulation Development and Evaluation of Mucoadhesive Buccal Tablets of Acebutolol Hydrochloride

Abstract: A mucoadhesive drug delivery system is an oral dosage form, where the tablet, gel, or patch is attached to the buccal region for direct absorption of the drug into blood circulation. This dosage form has been employed to improve the bioavailability of drugs that undergoes significant hepatic first-pass metabolism.
