Formulation and In-Vitro Evaluation of Enteric Coated Tablet Incorporating Rabeprazole

Abstract: The objective of the work is to try and assess the applicability and manufacturing possibilities to optimize an enteric coated tablet formulation containing Rabeprazole sodium as the drug aiming at the anti-acidity activity with desired drug release properties. Enteric coated tablet was chosen as dosage form being a cost-effective technology for pharmaceutical industry requiring fewer procedures. Before the implementation of the pharmaceutical technological aims, analysis of critical factors influencing the ma… Show more

“…As in the case of pellets, the literature provides examples of the manufacturing of an intermediate layer, which separates the enteric coat from the core with the therapeutic substance. HPMC or polyvinyl alcohol dispersions are used for this purpose [ 253 , 254 , 255 , 256 , 257 , 258 , 259 , 260 , 261 ]. The intermediate layer is intended to protect the therapeutic substance sensitive to acidic groups of enteral polymers [ 256 ].…”
