Background: This work is envisaged to understand the use of various superdisintegrants and their drug release effect in the formulation of Ranolazine fast-dissolving tablets (FDTs). Materials and Methods: The FDTs were formulated by using direct compression methods using different superdisintegrants like sodium starch glycolate, croscarmellose sodium and crospovidone. The superdisintegrant's effect at different concentrations was studied with help of precompression studies such as Hausner's ratio, compressibility index, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and post-compression studies like friability, disintegration and dissolution studies. Results: The effect of various superdisintegrants on desired drug release was studied and its concentrations were optimized. Based on the evaluation results of various trials, the effective concentration was found to be 15mg/tab of crospovidone. It has a disintegration time of 25 sec and a cumulative percentage drug release of 99.77±0.41. Conclusion: In this study, Ranolazine FDTs were developed and successfully optimized. The ideal superdisintegrant and its concentration were selected. Among the various superdisintegrants, crospovidone was more effective compared to other superdisintegrants. Hence, it is recommended to use crospovidone as an ideal superdisintegrant in the Ranolazine FDTs formulations.

Fast-dissolving drug delivery systems have gained attention and acceptance recently as innovative drug delivery methods that seek to improve patient compliance while improving the safety and effectiveness of a therapeutic molecule by preparing it for administration in a traditional oral dosage form. Some businesses unveiled more durable fast-dissolving medication delivery systems. The tongue is either the floor or the top of the film. This film instantly dissolves when applied to the tongue, releasing the medication, which then dissolves in saliva. The saliva travels down into the stomach, where it absorbs some medications from the mouth, throat, and esophagus. In this instance, improving drug absorption, reducing choking danger, and improving mouth feel are important.

This research paper presents the formulation and evaluation of ondansetron hydrochloride monohydrate oral film using the mix-solvency concept. Ondansetron hydrochloride monohydrate a selective serotonin receptor antagonist is commonly prescribed to prevent chemotherapy or surgery-induced nausea and vomiting. The aim of the study was to enhance the solubility of ondansetron hydrochloride monohydrate which has been enhanced by the blend of varying aqueous solubilizers poly ethylene glycol, niacinamide, and caffeine. The oral film formulation was prepared using a solvent casting method, incorporating polymers, plasticizers and different solvents. Various formulation variables, including solvent type and concentration, polymer-to-plasticizer ratios, and drug loading, were optimized systematically the resulting oral film was investigated for various parameters such as thickness, drug content, disintegration time, folding endurance and surface pH. The % in-vitro release of drug of the best two formulations F3 and F5 was 99.70 and 96.62%, respectively.
