Forming a transparent atmospheric optical channel by use of vortical laser beam

Abstract: It was shown that promising way to reduce a power loss of optical waves transmitted through atmosphere is use of spatially inhomogeneous optical waves with phase front in form of flat spiral. Vortical optical beam used to separate aerosol (due to light pressure on water particles) and create a cone wherein droplets concentration is substantially reduced.
