AbstractÄthylentrithiocarbonat (I) reagiert unterschiedlich zum 1,3‐Dithiolthion‐(2) (A) mit Aminen unter Ringspaltung zu Thioharnstoffen (II) oder vereinzelt unter Kondensation zu Azomethinen. Der Mechanismus wird erörtert. Ebenso wie A ist I durch Salzbildung an der Thiocarbonylgruppe zu aktivieren und setzt sich dann mit CH‐aciden Verbindungen und primären bzw. sekundären Aminen um. Der Ring wird dabei nicht gespalten und bleibt auch bei der Hydrolyse, Alkoholyse und Sulfhydrolyse erhalten.
