Formation of Beach Profile with the Design Criteria of Seawalls

Abstract: When wave energy builds up, beach berm and even dunes are quickly eroded with this material being removed offshore to form a bar parallel to the beach. It proceeds seawards during the course of the storm to reach some ultimate location prior to being dismantled and moved back to the beach by subsequent swell. There is difficulty in defining the steepness associated with storm, although it has commonly been accepted that steeper waves often produce a bar or a barred beach bar position and its crest height for a… Show more

“…In addition, the transport patterns of quartz san have been analyzed using laboratory experiments and field surveys [17,25,26], allowin for the classification of balanced shorelines on the basis of scouring and siltation [22,27,28 Researchers have found from these studies that the presence of sand dams protects th coast [29]. This has led scholars to study the morphological parameters [30], formatio theories [31], and movement trends of sandbars [32].…”

“…By potential risks from storms and other environmental disasters, coastlines have gradually transformed, materials eroding and moving from certain areas to others (Luo, 2014). The storms are; hurricanes, tropical storms, typhoons, tornadoes, winter storms, and cyclones, resulting in casualties, their investment loss, and coastal environment hazards.…”
